Clinical Fellowship

Our fellowships have been instrumental in supporting general practice retention over the past five years. These fellowships focus on implementing Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) that enhance patient care and improve staff experience. Outcomes are designed to scale beyond individual practices, benefiting wider general practice and primary care networks (PCNs). 

We are excited to announce an opportunity to join The Hub Plus as a Clinical Fellow, driving innovation and supporting retention in general practice while aligning with national and local priorities. 

The Role 

As a Clinical Fellow, you will: 

  • Lead and implement a Quality Improvement Programme to support retention and workforce sustainability in general practice.
  • Develop innovative projects aligned with national priorities i.e.
  • Moving services from secondary to primary care
  • Integrating digital redesign
  • Moving from reactive to preventative care.
  • Projects which address health inequalities will be prioritised
  • Design and deliver educational sessions relevant to your project outcomes, ensuring learning is shared with the wider workforce.
  • Work closely with The Hub Plus team to address workforce risks and support the retention of essential skills.
  • Collaborate with practices and PCNs to ensure QIPs are scalable and impactful. 

GP Fellowship 

Hours: 1 Session per week (4hours 10) 48 sessions over a 12-month period Or 2 Sessions per week (8hours 20) 48 sessions over a 6-month period  

Location: Hybrid – Base site RTC Business Park, London Road, Derby, DE24 8UP 

Contract type: Fellowship Memorandum of Understanding fixed for 6/12 months  

Pay: Remuneration commensurate with role, up to a maximum of £10k per fellowship (3 fellowship opportunities available)  

This is a unique opportunity for a motivated, self-directed individual with a passion for quality improvement, education, and workforce retention. 

We are looking for individuals with a passion for quality improvement, education, and retention in general practice. While a clinical background is beneficial, we welcome applications from diverse professional experiences that contribute to broader perspectives and better outcomes. 

Applicants will be applying for this fellowship in addition to their clinical sessions/ working hours, ensuring it supports retaining skills where a colleague might otherwise retire. This fellowship is designed to complement, not replace, existing clinical responsibilities. 

This fellowship is not an employment position but a grant to allow the individual the ability to develop in a specific subject area and share learning with the wider general practice. As such it is the fellow’s responsibility to declare and pay any appropriate tax and NI to HMRC. This opportunity is not subject to an employment contract with The Hub Plus (GPTF Ltd).
