Level 3 General Practice Assistant (GPA)

Overview:

This apprenticeship is being delivered to help increase the amount of accredited GPA's across the midlands. We are working with Chesterfield College to host this 18 month course which will give learners an external accreditation for their role. The apprenticeship is also known as the Level 3 Customer Service Specialist Apprenticeship which encorporates the GPA course with additioanl modules. 

Duration: 18 months

Level: 3

Entry Requirements:

- Must be employed in a GPA role. Priority will be given to those who have been employed the longest.

- Must have English and Maths at Level 2 (GSCE / O Level) pass or equivilant. 

Delivery Method:

Delivered online supported by the apprenticeship team. The majority of learning will be done at the learner’s own practice with the support of your practice team.

Assessment (EPA):
- A 2,500-word work-based project supported by an interview
- A professional discussion supported by a portfolio of evidence
- A practical observation booklet including clinical competency sign off by your GP mentor.

Upon successful completion you will gain:
- Level 3 Customer Service Specialist apprenticeship
- Two Level 4 BTEC modules (Unit 2 Communicating in a Business & Unit 9 Understanding work activities to improve business performance)
- 10 university credits.
