Microsoft 365 Apps for Derbyshire Primary Care

We are excited to announce that a new learning channel for Microsoft 365 apps has been made available for Derbyshire Primary Care staff.

The channel is available via the menu on the left-hand side of Mircosoft Teams under the ‘Teams’ button and is called 'DD Digital Learning Channel'.

Within this channel, you will find training videos for specific apps, tests you can take, and a league table to track your progress. We also have a Microsoft 365 Expert, who will check the question and query section daily.

Watch this five-minute introductory video to find out more about the Microsoft 365 learning portal.

Once you have been added to the channel, you will be able to directly access the ‘Get Started’ page here. This is the best place to start when visiting the channel for the first time.

The Topic channels:

Each topic has its own channel, each of which contains a range of learning resources and a Knowledge Check quiz.

The learning resources include videos, tip sheets and Quick Start guides, which will prove invaluable to you as you explore the possibilities within Microsoft 365. You can access these resources at any time so that you can learn about the apps at your own pace, and we encourage you to use whatever learning resources suit your personal needs.

The Knowledge Check:

This is a multiple-choice quiz which checks your knowledge level for the relevant app. When you take the quiz, you will receive an email with your score and details of any questions that you answered incorrectly. You'll then be able to improve your knowledge of those topics before taking the Knowledge Check again, whether that is by reviewing the training resources or trying things out yourself.

If you answer all of the Knowledge Check questions correctly then a few things will happen:

1. You will be sent a badge which you can proudly display in a suitable location. This could include your email signature or LinkedIn profile, for example.
2. A message will be posted in the Achievements channel highlighting your new badge.
3. You'll be credited with points on the League Table that you can find in the General channel.

Things to be aware of:

There are certain apps that not everyone has access to, such as Microsoft Forms and Whiteboard. We intend to widen access to these apps, but first, we are working on some guidance to support safe and efficient usage. This means that you might want to wait until you have access to certain apps before watching the training videos.

When using M365 apps, it's important to consider who will have access to the information. Each practice, as the data controller for the information they store, should adhere to local data protection screening processes to ensure that M365 apps are used safely and securely. Best practice recommendations include conducting data protection impact assessments for any new processing activities and consulting with your data protection officer if you are unsure or have any questions.

Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please email: clare.burgess1@nhs.net.
