Autonomy

When first qualified, complete 300 hours working alongside band 6 Paramedic.

After 300 hours, utilise support tools to promote safe discharge. Require clinical support to discharge from scene if outside of these tools

Work autonomously, with access to senior support via ambulance service or partner agencies. Work autonomously with access to support. Provide clinical guidance and leadership to NQP and Paramedic tiers.  

The list of skills above is not exhaustive and FCPs and ACPs can undertake the additional procedures if they have received the relevant training and supervision with the practice and work within their competencies.

They can also order x-rays and additional scans if they have undertaken an approved IRMER course and an agreement with the relevant organisations has been formalised.
